OARA awards $68,000 in scholarships Print E-mail

Ottawa, Ontario -- June 20, 2011 -- The Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association (OARA) has announced the recipients of the 2011 OARA Scholarship Awards. The association will $68,000 as part of its largest education investment ever.

Recyclers, repairers, insurers convene Print E-mail

Toronto, Ontario -- June 16, 2011 -- Representatives from the collision repair, insurance, and auto recycling industries convened in Toronto on Thursday morning for a meeting aimed to identify barriers to the increased usage of recycled parts. There was a lot of agreement on what the key issues are but it was clear that a lot of work still needs to be done address them.

Lecavalier wins "Phénix de l'environnement" award Print E-mail

Ste-Sophie, Québec -- June 13, 2011 -- Lecavalier Auto Parts won the “Phénix de l’environnement” award on June 9.  The contest is the highest recognition for know-how in environmental protection and applications of sustainable development in Québec.   Éric St-Pierre, human resources manager at Lecavalaier, was on-hand at the Salon Rouge de L’Assemblée Nationale du Québec to receive the award.

ARAAC holds successful, festive annual meeting Print E-mail

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island -- June 13, 2011 -- The Automotive Recyclers Association of Atlantic Canada (ARAAC), in conjunction with the Automotive Recyclers of Canada (ARC), held its annual members on June 11 and 12 in Charlottetown, PEI. Just fewer than 100 people from across the region attended representing 35 companies.

LKQ donates 10,000 trees as part of Get Green promotion Print E-mail
Chicago, Illinois -- June 8, 2011 -- LKQ Corporation the largest auto and truck recycler in the United States has announced its partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation for the 2011 Get Green promotion was a success. Everyone who supplied a valid email address at the Get Green website during the month of May received a tree donated in his or her honor and the chance to win a host of Apple(R) prizes. LKQ donated over 10,000 trees, which will be planted in Florida's Belmore State Forest, the company says.
